Catherine Miles was born in Albany, Western Australia and she moved to Darwin in 2006. Catherine is now an active member of Darwinâs Art community and has rapidly grown a reputation as a talented fine artist. Although better known for her pet portraiture, she now explores a wide range of subject matter, mediums and artistic fields. Including designing fabric for Archer > I âs exclusive designer range of childrenâs clothing. At present she enjoys the use of mild colour and textural distortions, while retaining reality and capturing the true spirit within her subjects.
Catherine is an award-winning artist, who exhibits regularly in small solo, and various group exhibitions across the Northern Territory. And after completing her first wall mural in Darwin’s Street Art Festival, Catherine's biggest achievement for 2019 along with winning the Katherine Town Council Art Award, was winning the prestigious Portrait of a Senior Territorian Art Prize, where her work has now been collected as part of the Northern Territory Governments Araluen Arts Collection. Catherine has works in multiple private and corporate collections across Australia.
